This sweet homemade coffee syrup is as versatile as it is delicious. You can use this syrup to flavor your hot or iced coffee, you can create a delicious homemade creamer, and you can make a seriously amazing cinnamon latte.
Bring the water and brown sugar to a boil and cook until the sugar is fully dissolved— about 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat. Add in the cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and cardamom pods. Set aside to steep for 30 minutes.
Remove the cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and cardamom pods and discard them. Transfer the syrup to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
For Coffee Creamer
Combine the half-and-half and brown sugar cinnamon syrup in a small bowl. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to five days.
For Whipped Coffee
Combine the instant espresso, hot water, and granulated sugar in a small bowl (or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment). Beat on medium-high speed until the coffee can hold a stiff peak— about 2-3 minutes.
Combine the milk and brown sugar cinnamon syrup in a small mug or glass. Top with the whipped coffee cream. Stir the cream gently into the milk and enjoy.
For Hot or Iced Coffee
Combine the coffee, syrup, and half-and-half in your desired glass or mug (with ice, for iced coffee). Stir and enjoy.
For Latte
Heat the milk in the microwave for 2 minutes (or on the stove until it starts to steam). Once the milk is warm, use a milk frother to create a thick layer of foam.
Combine the espresso and brown sugar cinnamon syrup in the bottom of a mug. Top with frothed milk and ground cinnamon (optional).
Notes
Recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups of syrup.

Light or brown sugar will work in this recipe.
To make a richer, sweeter coffee creamer, add 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk.
You must use instant espresso in the whipped coffee— neither instant coffee nor standard espresso will work in this recipe. To heat the water for the whipped coffee, microwave it for 30-45 seconds.
